Captain John Ely has held a USCG 100 ton Masters license since 1978 and is certified in both first aid and CPR. Captain John, along with our crew, is uniquely qualified to provide you and your guests the best opportunity to catch your fish of a lifetime with more than 24 years of blue water fishing and gulf stream experience many miles offshore. Captain John has successfully fished the offshore waters of places like Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Southeast Florida, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, Venezuela, Mexico, Africa, Australia, St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. During that time charter customers have targeted and caught big bull dolphin, wahoo, sailfish, swordfish, white marlin, blue marlin, black marlin, striped marlin, kingfish, giant tuna, bluefin tuna, yellowfin tuna and many more migratory species.

FEATURES
Alexa Marie is a 2001 48' Ocean Yachts Super Sport Convertible commissioned in June of 2001 and is extensively equipped for offshore fishing in total comfort with an emphasis on your safety. No expense has been spared aboard the Alexa Marie to insure your safety and comfort while seeking dolphin, wahoo, sailfish, white marlin, blue marlin, tuna and swordfish in a state of the art sport fisherman rigged for your success!
Alexa Marie is powered by twin Caterpillar diesels and is equipped with the following electronics for safety, navigation and the ultimate sport fishing experience; GPS-EPRIB, Six Person SOLAS life raft, 2 fully redundant Northstar 962 and 951 DGPS systems, 2 fully redundant VHF radio systems, Cellular telephone, Single Side Band Radio, Furuno Nav-Net System with a 3 screen redundant color display system including long range color radar and color bottom machine, Autohelm fully interfaced into the Furuno Nav-Net system , Engine Synchronizers, Surface water temperature gauge, 2 Kristal electric reels for teasers and dredges, Fire - Boy fully automatic engine fire chemical suppression system, Satphone, Bose Series 35 surround - sound and home theater system, Trac-Vision satellite television system, Sony color TV in salon with Sony DVD player.
For fishing equipment the Alexa Marie is equipped with the latest in Penn, Shimano, Fin-Nor while using the very finest in bluewater tackle from Pompanette, Braid and Rupp. From lightweight stand-up gear, to huge 130 pound class reels and anything in between the Alexa Marie has everything you'll need to land your targeted catch. The spacious fishing cockpit includes a large re-circulating livewell and a sturdy international class fishing chair for safely and comfortably fighting giant tuna and big blue's. In the huge fish box you'll find chiller plates to keep your catch cold all the way back to the dock.
Alexa Marie and her Captain will do everything possible to make your day aboard comfortable and enjoyable. You can bring you own meals and beverages and keep them in our Sub-Zero refrigerator, or if you'd like we can cater entire meals and selected beverages with adequate advance notice for an additional charge. On the way back in to the dock enjoy the view from the salon while you watch a movie on DVD or a tape in the VCR in the smoke free (NO SMOKING IS ALLOWED INSIDE THE BOAT) spacious and comfortable air-conditioned salon.
CATCH AND RELEASE FISHING
Alexa Marie promotes catch and release fishing for all billfish.
If you would like to have a mount of your fish made please inform the Captain beforehand. We will measure your catch and photograph it prior to release to insure that the most accurate reproduction possible can be made. We will make arrangements for your mount to be carefully reproduced and shipped directly to the location of your choice. Fees associated with the reproduction of your trophy may vary based upon species, size of fish and shipping method chosen. Your Captain can provide you with a current price list for your mount at the time your book your charter.
Marine taxidermy, as it was practiced 20 years ago, has changed and now utilizes modern technology and processes that were previously unavailable. The practice of preserving the actual carcass of your fish for mounting ceased a long time ago. 99.9% of all mounts today are fiberglass reproductions of your catch painted to look as if they were the real fish itself. There is no need to kill your fish to create a mount. Our billfish species are already under an alarming increase in mortality directly related to the wasteful and indiscriminate practice of long-lining commercial fishing.
When fishing aboard the Alexa Marie we require that you dispose of any and all trash, including plastic and non-organic materials using the waste containers found aboard. Trash thrown overboard, especially plastic and glass, often finds its way into the stomachs and gills of various species that may cause the fish to waste, become diseased or die.

During the colder months the warm waters off of southeastern Florida are infused with restorative powers that led the Spanish Conquistadors to believe that the legendary fountain of youth was somewhere nearby. Summer Schedule
During the months of June, July, August, September and early October you'll find the Alexa Marie at Sunset Marina in Ocean City, Maryland. Sunset Marina is the newest, cleanest and most modern marina in Ocean City and is less than one quarter of a mile from the Ocean City inlet. The marina includes one of the best restaurants to be found in all of Ocean City - Fathoms Grill, offering the finest in fresh seafood and steaks to die for. Of course if you are interested in something less filling the second floor bar overlooking the marina offers all the libations you're looking for in a custom designed, hand crafted and incredibly varnished environment of soothing exotic woods. Within minutes of Sunset Marina are literally hundreds of choices for dining, lodging, entertainment and recreation. Ocean City has something to offer for everyone. Ocean City transforms from a sleepy costal town to a booming ocean side resort during these months due to the easy access from Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia, PA, New York City and Pittsburgh, PA. Ocean City has one of the longest oceanfront boardwalks (made of real wood - not concrete) in the world with lots to see, eat, drink and do. Winter / Fall Schedule
During the cold months of November, December and February you'll find the Alexa Marie at the legendary Sailfish Marina in Palm Beach. Sailfish is home to one of the most recognized charter fleets in North America as these waters have produced a large number of IFGA billfish records. Sailfish is a short drive from the areas well known hotels and close to Palm Beach International Airport, yet only a brief drive away from Americas' Venice -Fort Lauderdale and the lively and exotic lifestyle of Miami Beach, Florida. Sailfish is clean, modern, close to the inlet and just a few short miles from the fishing grounds with one of the best dining and drinking establishments in all of South Florida. In addition to the excellent restaurant on site Sailfish is only minutes away from the legendary dining and shopping experience that is uniquely Palm Beach. If you are looking for something a little closer to the marina ask the Captain for his choice of local establishments. Spring Schedule
While Sailfish Marina is our home port for the majority of the spring you'll find the Alexa Marie during March, April and May charter fishing anywhere in the Bahamas from Hopetown to Chubb to Walkers Cay during the prime months of March, April and May. Of course you can also find us in Isla Majures, Mexico, Key West and Islamorada as well. In fact the Alexa Marie can be found where the fish are biting during these months. Call us and reserve your charter early - don't miss the best billfish period of the year!

RESERVATION / CANCELLATION POLICY
To reserve your charter aboard the Alexa Marie a refundable deposit in the amount 25% is required. Additional deposits may be required if you are ordering additional services such as food and beverage. Special services deposits, such as food and beverage deposits, are not refundable for any reason.
You may cancel your charter booking up to 14 days prior to your reserved date for a full refund. There will be no refund for cancellations made with less than 14 days advance notice. Cancellations must be made via telephone before 3:00 PM Eastern time , or via e-mail at Fishing@AlexaMarie.com before 3:00 Eastern Time (note: telephone, internet connections and mail delivery are not the responsibility of the Alexa Marie. You should call via phone, or select delivery notification in your e-mail application to confirm delivery of your cancellation notification). You will be given a cancellation confirmation for your records. Should we not receive your initial deposit within five calendar days of your booking your charter will be automatically canceled without further notice.
We realize that schedules often change and so should you not be able to cancel within the 14 day window you may reserve an alternate date, based upon availability, without further penalty, however you may not cancel or re-schedule the alternate date requested. Should you not fish on your alternate date you will forfeit your deposit entirely.
In the event of weather conditions deemed unsafe solely by the Captain the trip shall be canceled at his sole option. In the event of weather cancellation at the sole determination of the Captain the entire deposit shall be fully refunded or may be priority re-scheduled, based upon availability, at the option of the customer. Once the boat has left the dock the charter has begun. There shall be no refunds if the charter is terminated early at the request of the customer, should medical problems arise or due to a change in the weather once we have departed the docks. In the event of a mechanical problem that results in an early return to the dock the refund shall be pro-rated based upon the number of hours utilized prior to the breakdown.
It is suggested that you check the weather daily at least 2 days prior to your reserved date. Weather often changes without notice. For that reason you should speak with Captain John before your planned departure. Call the boat at (302) 530-9966 the evening prior to your charter to check the weather. Remember we are on the ocean. The weather here, unless you are here too, is more than likely different from that which you are experiencing elsewhere. Captain John will call you at the contact number you provided us by 5:30 AM if he is going to cancel the trip on the day of charter. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you but your safety is our primary concern.
PAYMENT TERMS
While deposits can be made with personal checks more than 14 days in advance final payment terms are cash, wire transfer or certified funds prior to departure from the dock only. PERSONAL CHECKS AND CREDIT CARDS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR FINAL PAYMENTS. Certified checks should be made payable to AMK, LLC and should reference your reservation booking number. Wire instructions shall be provided upon request.
MEDICAL EMERGENCIES
Each and every charter customer will be required to complete an emergency contact sheet prior to departure from the dock. Please make sure that any medical conditions that may require emergency treatment, including prescribed medications and names of physicians are detailed in this document. In the event of a medical emergency at sea every attempt will be made to alert rescue officials to known medical problems and emergency contacts. No copies of this document shall be made and upon return to the dock the original of this document will be returned to you for disposal and or safe keeping.
Generally it is a good idea for you to inform your family of your planned departure and return time and to contact then once you have returned from your charter if for no other reason than to tell them about your fishing trip!
DRUG POLICY
The Alexa Marie is a drug free fishing environment. We will not tolerate drugs of any type aboard. If you needs drugs to enjoy yourself we'd rather not have you as a customer. Failure to comply with this policy will result in arrest, prosecution and conviction. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS.
